5 Reasons to Study Abroad in London as a Student

1. London is a city in which  over 300 languages are spoken daily.

The main language is still English, so it is very easy to get around as an American student. But
if you're looking to try and hone in on any other languages while you are abroad - it it
the cultural hub to be in.

2. You can get virtually anywhere you would like to go by public transport.

The city has one of the most efficient systems of public transport in the world. The Tube
(their subway system) can get you from one side of London to the other and the system
of trains and how they run are very simple to understand. The maps are color coded and
the lines are given names to make them memorable and able to identify transfers you may need
quickly. Also, as a study abroad student, it is key to apply for a student discounted oyster card -
that way you travel cheaper and there are more travel packages available to you as a University
     student.

3.  The markets and street food are heaven on Earth!

The lists of markets is endless in London and they are all filled with great things to buy,
and the most amazing food. The concept that British food is aweful - I did find tht to be true BUT
the abundance of food from all over Europe (italian, turkish, thai, chinese, spanish, and still
the list goes on) was extrodinary. The hardest part is figuring out what you are in the mood to eat
      - when my mother visited me she said she would starve all the time because she would never be
to make up her mind on what wonderful thing she wanted to eat!

4. More green space than your average city for Study Abroad

London is blessed to have numerous parks that flourish throughout the length of the metropolious
All have thier own characteristics and different greenery. Green park resides right next
to Buckingham Palace - so it is the perfect place to picnic after viewing the changing of the guard.
They are also all open container - so feel free to bring that bottle of wine with you!

 5. There is something for everyone!

There is always something new to do - the abundance of oppertunities is endless! There are
events ranging from gallery opeings, to movie premieres, to live comedey nights at a great
discount to Uni students. During the day there is the pub scene, markets, festivals, and all
national museums are FREE! The tourist oppertunites are vast and the student experience
reach even further for studying abroad in London.
